3ra Iglesia Bautista Monte Horeb

Monterey Church – Pastor Dios Mel. Pastor Dios Mel is also attending seminary in Santiago. He emphasizes small group ministries and home visits to nurture individuals with the Word. Founded approximately 4 years ago, the church currently boasts a membership of 27 individuals, with an average Sunday attendance ranging from 40 to 50 individuals. Ministries within the church cater to children, youth, women, and men, prioritizing local evangelism and spiritual growth.

They request prayers for a marital counseling ministry and for continued growth. The pastor’s vision for the church is to reach the community, with a particular emphasis on theological resources. While he possesses a computer, financial constraints hinder his ability to print materials, making a printer a valuable asset to the ministry. Providing materials directly to people is most effective for them.

The community surrounding Monterey Church is described as calm and rural yet plagued by issues such as smoking and alcohol abuse among its youth. The church expresses gratitude for assistance received. However, they still require various resources, such as a pressure cooker, a cellphone, a computer battery, and repairs for their electric bicycle. Musically, while they have talented musicians, instruments are lacking. They oversee another mission point in in a local town called Pan de Azúcar, a village outside San Antonio, which serves approximately 1,500 residents.

Pastor Dios Mel’s poignant reminder to “remember us” underscores the importance of follow-through on promises and commitments made to churches and communities in need, highlighting the significance of genuine support and sustained assistance.
